Petrified Forest & Painted Desert

We decided since we were already in Holbrook that we would go on to the Petrified Forest & Painted Desert. Here are a bunch of pictures in no particular order of our trip that was a beautiful over cast day.

This is called Agate Bridge.

Jared & the kids where the Historic Route 66 use to run.

Next Agate Bridge.

Old Chevy at the Route 66 marker.

There are tons of these fake dinosaurs in & around Holbrook...the kids & Jared think they are the coolest!

Painted Desert.

Petrified Wood!

Newspaper Rock...ancient writings.

We had a great family day and the kids really enjoyed themselves.

  1. Oh those pictures bring back so many memories! When we moved from Holbrook to Mesa, we brought a TON of petrified wood and rocks with us and my mom used to make us give those away as B-Day gifts to our friends. We thought it was totally lame but our friends always thought is was cool. Of course that was a couple of decades ago - before all the new cool electronic gadgets. HA!
Been thinking of you - hope you're well!
