Eastmark to Host Tough Mudder Feb. 23 & 24

Ariz. (Feb. 12, 2013) – Eastmark,
DMB Associates’ new community, is
the 2013 host of Tough Mudder, a 10- to 12-mile endurance challenge that
is the ultimate test of strength, stamina, mental grit and teamwork.
Designed by British Special Forces,
Tough Mudder features 20 to 25 military-style obstacles such as “Funky Monkey,”
a trek across greased-up monkey bars; “Fire Walker,” a run through 4-foot-high
flames; and “Electroshock Therapy,” a gauntlet of 10,000-volt-charged dangling
wires.
Tough Mudder is more than a challenge;
it is a lifestyle. To date, more than 500,000 people globally have completed a
Tough Mudder challenge, with up to 750,000 expected this year alone. Participants
can register as an individual or a team, and on average 80% of participants do
Tough Mudder as a team.
Final entrance
fee is $180 for Saturday, Feb. 23, and $170 for Sunday, Feb. 24. Registration
is open until February 15.
Tough Mudder expects 7,500 participants
and 4,000 spectators throughout the two-day event, which will feature a keg
toss at the base area, DJs throughout the course and live band “Those Guys” at
the post-party.
Eastmark has committed to a five-year
agreement with Tough Mudder to annually, and potentially bi-annually, host the
endurance events on site. Eastmark’s first neighborhoods will debut this spring.

Arizonans and returning veterans test their endurance.”
