On February 15th I had my regular weekly OB appointment. They did my vitals, went in to be checked my the doctor. After talking with the Dr he decided due to the fact that my BP was a bit elevated, he wanted me to go over to the hospital to have my BP monitored for a few hours. After a few hours they decided to admit me to be induced. All night I was in active labor, but not dilating very fast. Also the baby's heartbeat was very rapid then it would drop and so on. So they finally came in early in the morning of February 16th and told me that they were going to have to do a C-section. They had me prepped & to the OR in a matter of minutes (although they said it wasn't an emergency). We got in there and my Dr decided to see if I had dilated any further. Sure enough I was dilated all the way & ready to go. So he had me deliver the baby right there in the OR. All through the labor & whatnot I had been having these coughing fits. In-which I had in-between pushes, the Dr told me cough instead of pushing because I was actually coughing the baby out. Funny but true I coughed my baby out. Brody Levi arrived @ 8:04 AM Feb 16th 7 lbs 2.8 oz 19 inches long
It turns out that his cord was wrapped around his neck & the umbilical cord was tied in a true knot which most likely explains his heartbeat. All turned out well. Brody was healthy and they got my BP back down. We are both doing very well. I am so glad he is here and he is healthy. He did end up having to go to the hospital and put under lamps for jaundice for 2 days but we are home now & he is great!
He is adorable! I am so glad that you are both home, happy and healthy! I wish I lived close so that I could come cuddle that sweet little baby and take the other three away for a day to give you some rest. He sure is a cute one! I hope he brings an incredible amount of joy and love into your heart! Congratulations!
